The Soul’s Code Retreat
March 3-4, 2012
Discover How to Access and Converse With Your Inner Voices of Destiny
Michael will be leading a two day workshop based on the radical depth psychological work of James Hillman, focusing on his best selling book, The Soul’s Code.
If you are interested in discovering how your ordinary problems and painful emotional symptoms are the conduits to deeper psycho-spiritual insight and transformation, you will want to join us for this informative and interactive experience. Everything you think you know about “spirituality” will be re-examined and re-visioned. Here are some of the issues we will examine and experience:
• The Acorn Theory: Each soul comes with a unique and innate destiny.
• Soul-making: What is it and why is it important?
• Addictions as Avenues to Soul-making: When painful symptoms become allies.
• Active Imagination: How to dialogue with the Psyche. Learning to ask “Who” instead of “why”?
The retreat will be held at the beautiful waterfront Dumas Bay Center near Federal Way, WA. Registration will begin at 7:30 am on Saturday with breakfast at 8:00, March 3 and we will conclude at 5 pm on Sunday, March 4. The cost is $195.00 including meals, snacks, lodging and the two day workshop. Space is limited, so reserve your spot now by calling Kim Duddy at 206-963-9706, or email: kduddy6@gmail.com. It is not necessary, but if you can, please read Hillman’s book, The Soul’s Code.

In this workshop we will look at the ideas of “heaven” and “earth” as ancient metaphors for two kinds of consciousness—one is human and the other is more than human, sometimes called Divine. “Heavenly” or Divine consciousness strives incessantly to enter and evolve our “earthly” consciousness through the four universal human desires: namely the desires for pleasure, power, prestige and purpose. These four ordinary earthly compulsions carry the transformational heavenly energies of soul-making. These four normal desires are experienced daily, especially during challenging internal and external conflicts – as negative feelings, thoughts and problematic encounters with people and situations. By examining the challenging temptations or tests of Christ in the Wilderness, the temptations of the Buddha under the Bodhi Tree, the Lord’s Prayer and clips from modern cinema, we will discover how these four basic human drives of pleasure, power, prestige and purpose are always seeking to further our spiritual development – whether awake or sleeping. The problem is that of seeing when, where and how each of these desires is seeking to enter and transform us, especially during those moments of struggle. You will discover not only that Infinite Heavenly Consciousness is tethered like an umbilical cord to your earthly psyche, constantly seeking to introduce new and living material designed specifically for your unique soul, but ways to communicate and cooperate with that Heavenly Consciousness—how to experience Heaven on Earth. Tickets $25, available in Bookstore or online. |

Changing Your Life for Good

May 01, 2012 6:30pm - Jun 12, 2012 9:30pm |
Changing Your Life for Good
This class looks at change in a fresh and dynamic way. Based on James Prochaska’s book, Changing for Good, this class will examine and help you apply his revolutionary model, Six Stages of Change, which is currently being used by the National Cancer Institute and health organizations around the globe. Prochaska and his team developed this model by studying hundreds of people who actually made long-term changes of unwanted habits, thoughts and feelings. The best processes and techniques of over 400 psychological theories are condensed to their most useful features for permanent change. In addition, we will include New Thought practices and Depth Psychological skills which view our “addictions” and “challenges” as living, purposeful teachers seeking to expand our consciousness through their recurring cravings and compulsions.
